The event, which sold out within five minutes of being advertised, was part of a larger effort to mobilize voters under 40. Piker, who has previously been criticized for his statements suggesting that America deserved 9/11, also called anti-Semitic and criticized the Republican Party. Democratic gubernatorial candidate Amy Klobuchar and democratic candidate for U.S. Senate Peggy Flanagan have both criticized Piker for his reckless statements.
