Anthony Edwards drops 45 as Timberwolves rout Heat
Anthony Edwards hit nine threes for 45 points as Minnesota crushed Miami 131-106 in the season opener. LaMelo Ball shined in his Wolves debut while Giannis Antetokounmpo’s record 35 points went for nothing. Anthony Edwards scored 45 points and 10 rebounds as the Timberwolves defeated Giannis Antetokounmpo's Heat 131-106 at Kaseya Center. Despite Anteto setting a Heat record for points in a debut with 35, Minnesota's Perimeter Shooting made the game crucial. Edwards now joins Wilt Chamberlain and Michael Jordan as the only players with multiple 40-point season openers. LaMelo Ball added 21 points and six assists in his first game for Minnesota. The Heat struggled to score, scoring only 8 of 33 threes and winning the glass 52-34. The win ends Giannis's 13 seasons in Milwaukee.
