You Know What's Cooler Than Visiting a Train Museum? Visiting FOUR Train Museums!
One day. Two cities. Four train museums. The Twin Cities has four train museum locations, including the Minnesota Transportation Museum's Jackson Street Roundhouse and the Twin City Model Railroad Museum. The Hennepin Overland Railway Historical Society also features trains on a mission and the Minnesota Streetcar Museum. This is more than in all of New York City, a metro area with roughly a million times more actual trains. The best way to find out about these museums is to visit all four in a single day, a feat possible on a handful of autumnal Saturdays each year due to their schedules. The Jackson Street roundhouse's main attractions are a fleet of antique train cars, a kiddie play area, and display cases of artifacts. The Twin City model Railroad Museum showcases train displays at all different scales.
