Luke Drzewiecki has been with Minnesota for two months. Luke Drzewiecki, a fifth-year kicker for the Minnesota Gophers football team, has made a significant impact on the team after arriving late into his final college season. DrzEWiecki was introduced to the team by Gophers coach P.J. Fleck and general manager Gerrit Chernoff, who saw him as a potential replacement for athletes who'd already signed professional contracts. A court ruling in July allowed athletes from the 2022 high school class to be eligible for a fifth year, which had been previously excluded from the new "five-for-five" rule. Drzyewieck, a native of Michigan who spent his first four seasons at New Mexico, made his Gophers debut on Sept. 12 for their second game. He is currently the only player in the Big Ten who has not missed a kick this season.
