A new morning: The Yang family keeps tradition alive after dad’s deportation
Zong Yang used to get his sons ready for school until he was deported to Laos, leaving his wife, Linda, to raise their five boys alone. Zong Yang, the father of five boys in South St. Paul, was deported to Laos in early May and now lives alone with his children in an apartment near the capital, Vientiane. He speaks with his sons every school day through Ring cameras installed in the family’s home in South Paul. Zong is 12 hours ahead of his family when it's 8 a.m. in Minnesota, and 8 p.m., in Laos. His wife, Linda Yang, has been adjusting to life as a single parent raising their five sons. Several Ring cameras are installed throughout the Yang home in Minnesota and around the living room and front yard.
