The seven people, three teenagers and four minors, arrested for allegedly breaking into Minneapolis' Basilica of St. Mary, likely "urban exploring" have been identified as a trend that is becoming more prevalent among young people seeking a thrill. Adam Duininck, CEO of the Minneapolis Downtown Council, expressed concern over the trend, stating that it's spread as young people seek a thrill and causes serious injury to an 18-year-old who fell 20 stories from a decommissioned grain elevator in August. Earlier this month, four teenagers were accused of breaking into a closed conference center in Chaska, Minnesota and a suspected urban explorer caused over $100,000 in water damage to a downtown Minneapolis high-rise apartment. The Basilica is currently undergoing a $50 million renovation.
