The Carl's scholarship includes multiple presentations and publications related to seizure, collection, and consumer law. When he was a student, Carl also contributed to various textbooks on intellectual property and domain naming. He acquired a broad knowledge of intellectual property law and domain name law and served as a student law representative of the National Arbitration Forum, a domain name dispute resolution provider designated by ICANN. Carl' The Trademark and Property Survey enabled the study of land reform laws in South Africa.
